Metaplanet posts solid net profit in Q3 thanks to Bitcoin gains: Details

The Japanese company “Metaplanet” achieved a net profit of 13.5 billion yen (approximately US$88 million) in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025.

The strong performance was driven by a sharp increase in Bitcoin valuation to 20.6 billion yen (over $130 million), which boosted the company’s non-operating income.

The company also recorded growth in operating income, benefiting from the expansion of its Bitcoin-related business and the continued solid performance of its hotel business.

Although deferred tax charges and stock issuance costs reduced some of the non-operating returns, the bottom line was still very strong.

Metaplanet said its Bitcoin-based financial strategy is on track and will reclassify its core business as “Bitcoin-related businesses” starting this quarter, a move that reflects the expansion of its scope and transformation into operations beyond the treasury reserve management framework.
