Digital currency AXS rises more than 200%: Here’s why!

AXS, the digital currency affiliated with the “Axie Infinity” gaming project, has risen by about 209% this month, surpassing $2.70 for the first time since July 2025, performing well while the market is still under pressure.

Followers attribute the rise to proposed changes to the reward structure and sales mechanism through a currency-pegged version called bAXS.

The basic idea is to keep value within the system rather than exiting the platform quickly.

The most significant change to the scheme is the introduction of a variable sales charge tied to reputation.

That is, whoever sells bAXS will pay the fee to transfer to the Axie vault, and the fee will be lower for those with a higher “Axie score.”

Zirlin said the goal is not to change prices in the short term, but to achieve structural changes in supply within the 2026 plan.

The project’s official account also supports the same message, arguing that “bAXS” is a tool that reduces the flow of value directly to the trading platform.

Community reaction has been generally positive, with some influencers praising the mechanism for increasing the project’s internal economic cohesion, while more cautious opinions question whether the new incentives will create real activity, or are simply a new push to capitalize on rewards.

In terms of price, AXS fell slightly after hitting 2.71 and is trading around 2.40, but is still up more than 116% on a weekly basis and about 195% on a monthly basis, with daily trading volume jumping over $700 million.

Still, the currency is down about 60% annually and is down more than 98% from its all-time peak of nearly $165 in November 2021.

Whether momentum continues will largely depend on how quickly bAXS is implemented and how reputation affects user behavior in the Axie economy.
