Pettensor (TAO) rose nearly 10% on Tuesday, surpassing the $290 level, after Grayscale officially announced the launch of the Grayscale Pettensor Trust (GTAO). This constitutes one of the first regulated investment vehicles offering exposure to a decentralized AI network.
The rally pushed Tao to its highest level in weeks, with 24-hour trading volume reaching $230 million. The move came as a result of investors reacting to the growing institutional interest in AI-related crypto assets, especially those who see low supply growth.

The fund allows investors to gain exposure to Bitensor’s native TAO token through a traditional security structure, without having to buy or hold the asset directly, Grayscale said.
The Fund’s shares trade on the over-the-counter markets under the symbol Grayscale Bittensor Trust (GTAO).
According to Grayscale, GTAO aims to track the tau market price using the Coin Metrics Real-Time Bittensor Reference Rate index, minus fees and expenses.
As of January 5, the fund had a total expense ratio of 2.5% and a net asset value of $7.96 per share.

The launch comes after a series of structural changes in the interior Pettensor Ecosystem. In mid-December, the network completed its first halving event, reducing daily tau emissions by approximately 50%.
This measure reduced inflation and imposed tighter supply dynamics. This made Bitensor’s structure similar to Bitcoin’s scarcity model.
In addition, Grayscale has already filed documents with US regulators to convert its Betensor fund into an exchange-traded fund (ETF). This comes in a broader effort than before Grayscale investments To expand regulated exposure to digital currencies beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.
With approval schedules remaining uncertain, the filing reinforced the narrative about institutional access to TAU.
Bitensor operates as a decentralized market for machine intelligence, where contributors earn tau by providing computing and AI services to the network.
The protocol has gained attention as investors move toward alternative blockchain-based solutions for centralized AI infrastructure.
Remember that with lower emissions, higher staking activity, and new structured access points, recent TAW price action shows that markets are reassessing the asset’s long-term position.
