Musk confirms SpaceX IPO is coming, says he won’t use DOGE anymore

Elon Musk has practically confirmed that SpaceX will soon become a public company and has expressed remorse for his role in leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

When space journalist Eric Berger published his analysis titled “Here’s why I think SpaceX will go public soon,” Musk responded, “As usual, Eric is spot on.” Berger is widely considered the most reliable reporter covering SpaceX.

In a podcast interview published Tuesday with former DOGE spokeswoman Katie Miller, Musk said he would no longer participate in DOGE. “I think instead of working on DOGE, I’ll focus on my companies,” added Musk. “The cars didn’t burn,” Musk noted — referring to incidents of vandalism that occurred at Tesla showrooms during his time in government.

Musk described DOGE as “mildly successful” and “moderately successful,” a remarkably modest rating. He broke with President Trump in June after calling the administration’s tax bill “absolutely crazy and devastating.”

The simultaneous confirmation of the public offering and remorse over DOGE reflects Musk’s shift toward his business empire after a turbulent political leadership.
